Does Arizona Department of Racing pay attention to any of this?  Why are dogs that have collided, fallen,  and jammed running again and what is happening to the dogs that have fallen, collided, and jammed? Why are dogs that are coming in 8th place still running for their lives?

You can verify the above info on Track Info.net, an official dog racing site that records ever little nuance except what happens to the dogs when we don’t see them running anymore.  How convenient is that? Greyhound-Data is also an official dog racing site which shows the dogs lineage and more. Sometimes adoption groups, adopters, and others will update where the dog has gone but not often enough.

Mercifully, no dogs race on Sunday.

HB 2536 – the Arizona bill to lessen and hopefully phase out dog racing cannot come soon enough but is it too late for the above dogs?

  1. Why do we let this continue? What has happened to the greys that were evidently injured? Any of them get treated – or – I can only imagine the worse senerio!!! Need to end this racing torture!

I wish I had the answers to your questions. I do not. Animal cruelty is not first or fifth on the list of our politicos. Please speak out to the media and everyone you know. Silence is never an option.

  3. The politicians should be ashamed for allowing and encouraging this abuse. Maybe President Obama, a supposed dog lover, should say something about this travesty. How sad, over a hundred races, falling, colliding and still sent out again.
Indeed, where are those poor dogs.
