16 Missing Tucson Greyhounds-Stop the Murder!

We don’t know why the media is not exposing this crap about Tucson Greyhound Racing.

But hell, if they won’t — we will.

Here is the official complaint that the Greyhound Protection League sent to Geoffrey Gonsher, Director of Arizona Department of Racing; Janet Napolitano, governor; and Terry Goddard, attorney general/AZ.

As you can see once again TGP (Tucson Greyhound Park) has the audacity to carelessly hand off the dogs to an unscrupulous character who most likely sold unaltered dogs to low lifes for coyote hunting.

First the dogs race and live in abominable conditions then they get transported to god knows where to do god knows what and then they die a painful death.

This is worse than cockfighting and dog fighting and they’re both illegal!

Take action: Write the governor, Geoffrey Gonsher, contact the news media, write your congressional representative. Don’t just read this and shrug your shoulders.

We know about 16. How many more will live and die so inhumanely.

It’s time to END TUCSON GREYHOUND RACING.

  1. This is right….we can’t just read this stuff and feel it for the moment. You have to feel the anguish of what is happening to the greyhounds and realize you have to step up and do something.
In their name, write to the officials in the government. Copy each letter to as many people as possible. You have to do this not once, but twice…and then some. We have to be heard. We have to be the rooos of all the greyhounds.
We have to make as much noise as possible so that the media also starts to pay attention.

  2. The abuse MUST STOP. Dog racing has been around too long. Steps have been taken to end cockfighting, dog fighting and even the deplorable conditions of hog farms–but nothing has been done to end Dog Racing! Why? Because government officials only respond to pressure. It is time to turn up the heat on the politicians and get some action. They are public servants, let’s get them to SERVE!

  3. Don’t beat me up for being ignorant but what are the details of a GH being used for Coyote Hunting. Details please.

  4. Mr. Horan,
Please look under BLOGROLL on this blog and click on HeckaCoolSite. You will see the press release that went to the media, the 3 page complaint, and who owns the dogs.

  5. Coyote hunting with greyhounds is like taking a Ferrari out dune buggying. Fixating on prey dooms them to a death sentence when they propel through barbed wire fences. And they are far too fragile to withstand the often pitted and always uneven terrain. Of course the handlers can always get more greyhounds, so they are seen as expendible and easily replaced, especially when there’s a track like TGP nearby, where there is no concern for the welfare of the dogs loaded into haulers. Shame on Arizona for ignoring this travesty.
